Our companies

At the Institute of Metal Science, Equipment and Technologies with Hydroaerodynamics Centre (IMSETHC) are created three limited liability companies:

1. Company Hi-Tech IMS Ltd. to carry out:

  • Transfer of special and civil production with possible dual-use
  • Transfer of Technology, know-how, high tech equipment and systems
  • Training
  • Contractor mediation in relation to applied research and innovation of IMSETHC

The Company has full license to trade in special production.

2. Company Innovative casting technologies Ltd. is established with Metal Technology Group Angel Balevski Holding, to increase the economic efficiency of scientific and applied activities of the Institute and to achieve direct conversion of the large number of products.

The company will operate in the field of foundry materials, technologies and methods for obtaining high quality Cooperation with leading companies in the development and application of innovative devices and technologies in welding and other processing of materials products from ferrous metals and alloys.

3. Welding innovations Ltd., which includes the Institute of Metal Science, Equipment and Technologies with Hydroaerodinamics centre and KZU Holding “A TEST SERT” LTD. These are leading organizations and companies in the field of welding. Company objectives are:

  • Cooperation with leading companies in the development and application of innovative devices and technologies in welding and other processing of materials, as hybrid laser welding processes with applications in the construction of pipelines, modified welding processes with ultrasonic welding application of nanomaterials, modified processes of friction welding with application in mechanical engineering etc.
  • Opportunity to expand training and certification of welding personnel of all levels with European and international recognition as engineers, technologists, specialists, surveyors, welders, etc. These are extremely scarce staff crucial to implement large infrastructure projects such as nuclear, gas and oil pipelines, etc.

4. Training center in NDT (Non-destructive testing)
Training Centre for NDT is an advisory body to the executive director of Kozloduy NPP and as such is not a structural unit of the plant.
The main activity of Training Center for Nondestructive testing (TCNDT) is to provide conclusions on the effectiveness of the methods, equipment and staff; performing inspections of equipment important to safety of nuclear power, their regulatory compliance and certification system for nondestructive testing.
The essence of this work is validation of methodologies andtechnical equipment for control by running tests on representative samples with real or realistic defects and “blind” tests of samples of staff (or data files) with hidden defects.
Control purposes are achieved through the methodology forclassification of control (IAEA-EBR-WWER-11).
